Plain-English honesty about how Qaliona makes money.
Last updated: June 2026
I believe you deserve to know exactly how this website earns a living, so here it is in plain language. Qaliona is a free resource, and the ways below help me keep it that way. None of them ever change the advice I give you.
Amazon Associates
Qaliona is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
In practice, that means some of the product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway. It costs you nothing extra.
Other affiliate and referral relationships
Some articles include links to pet insurance providers and other pet-related services. If you request a quote or sign up through one of those links, Qaliona may receive a referral fee. As with Amazon, this never affects your price and never decides what I recommend.
Display advertising
This site displays ads served through Google AdSense and similar networks. These ads help fund the free content you read here. Advertising partners may use cookies; you can learn more in our Privacy Policy.
How I choose what to recommend
My recommendations are based on my experience as a former veterinary technician, on current veterinary guidance, and on how products actually perform for real dogs and cats. I recommend things I would genuinely suggest to a friend or a client. If a budget option works as well as a pricey one, I say so. A commission never buys a better review, and I am happy to point out a product's flaws even when it pays.
Not professional advice
Affiliate links sit inside articles that are general educational information, not veterinary diagnosis or treatment. Please read our Terms of Use and always consult your own veterinarian for medical decisions about your pet.
